One of my favorite radio shows is Tales of the Texas Rangers, starring Joel McCrea.
McCrea was a well known actor who had lead roles in dozens of movies from the 30's through the 50's. In the last decade of his career he was mostly (possibly entirely) in Westerns.
Tales of the Texas Rangers is a, "Modern Day Western," in that the characters ride on horseback through the plains, but it takes place during the 1930's and 40's (the show aired later than that, but was based on actual stories from that time period). McCrea played ranger Jayce Pearson, the lead character in the show.
It played like a Western even though he's often driving a truck (pulling his horse trailer behind him). It combined elements of police procedurals with the Western for really interesting and entertaining results. It was a very well written and well acted show.
I'll have to post some episodes soon...

I have a 45 RCA Victor Blue Bird Children's Record WBY-63 Shorty Long - Tales Of The texas Rangers on one side & The Little White Horse on the other. What if anything can you tell me about this old record and it's worth value? Any help would be greatly appreicated. Thanks,
